Our Wall Stabilisation Services

Foundation Excavation and Wall Straightening

Foundation excavation and wall straightening involves carefully removing soil around the affected foundation, relieving pressure on the bowed wall, and pushing it back to its original position. This restores the structural integrity of the foundation.

Internal Breakout System for Waterproofing

The Internal Breakout system for waterproofing addresses water penetration issues in bowed walls. By combining carbon-fiber reinforcement with a specialized waterproofing system, it effectively prevents further damage caused by water infiltration and ensures a dry basement.

Carbon-Fiber Reinforcement Using Fortress Technology

Carbon-fiber reinforcement using Fortress technology is an advanced solution for stabilizing bowed walls. Unidirectional carbon-fiber straps, combined with top and bottom anchors, provide a strong, unobtrusive repair that increases the foundation's resistance.

Exterior Excavation for Additional Waterproofing and Support

Exterior Excavation provides additional waterproofing and support for bowed walls. This process involves excavating the foundation from the outside, straightening the wall if necessary, and applying waterproofing materials to prevent future water damage and maintain the foundation's strength.

Restores Structural Integrity

Bowed wall services effectively address foundation issues, ensuring that the building remains strong and stable. This prevents further damage and maintains the structure's overall integrity.

Prevents Further Damage

Timely intervention and repair of bowed walls not only fixes the existing problem but also helps prevent any future foundation damage. This proactive approach saves homeowners from costly repairs later.

Ensures Safety of the Building

Addressing bowed walls promptly ensures the safety of the building's occupants by eliminating potential hazards. A stable foundation is crucial for the overall structural integrity of the building, providing peace of mind.

Our Process

01

Upon receiving your contract, our estimator creates a detailed work order for the field team, highlighting project specifics. The Operations Manager reviews the contract and work order, ensuring nothing is overlooked, and confirms details with you while assigning  an estimated wait time.

02

Once the contract has been signed, we'll start the project in the scheduled time. Our team excavates the site and returns the bowed wall to its original, plumb position. This crucial step restores structural integrity and prevents further damage caused by external pressure on the foundation wall.

03

We apply a carbon fiber layer to the leaning or bowed foundation wall. This counteracts external pressure, providing equal and opposite resistance for every increase in pressure. This reinforcement strengthens the wall and ensures long-lasting stability.

04

Our team addresses any drainage issues present and corrects them to prevent future problems. We then backfill the area as required, ensuring a secure and stable foundation. Our expertise allows us to solve foundation repair projects that other contractors struggle with, for all soil types.

FAQs

  • What if additional straps are needed?

Our Estimator has made every effort to accurately assess the number of straps required for your project. However, our installation crew is specially trained in the layout and installation of the straps, and they may determine during the layout process that one or two additional straps are necessary. This could be due to the bowing in the wall extending further than was visible during the initial estimate process or other factors that become apparent during installation. In such cases, additional straps may need to be added, which will result in an increase in the overall cost of the project. Rest assured that our team will communicate any changes to you promptly and work with you to find the best solution for your specific situation.

  • Is there anything else I should know?

It's important to note that the inside portion of our bowed walls service is in accordance with the Internal Breakout form, which should be included with this form as part of your contract. If the work requires excavation, the Exterior Excavation form will also be included. This ensures that all aspects of the project are covered and documented for your peace of mind. We encourage you to review these forms carefully and discuss any questions or concerns with your Estimator before work begins.

Our comprehensive suite of basement repair solutions has helped countless homeowners in Woodstock and surrounding areas in Ontario maintain dry, secure basements.

  • How much room do you need?

The amount of space required for our bowed walls service depends on the specific repair methods being used. If all the work is being done from inside the building, we will need a minimum of 6 feet of clearance around the perimeter of the affected area. However, if the wall needs to be straightened, we will require a larger workspace, with at least 12 feet of clearance. It's crucial to discuss any potential space constraints with your Estimator to ensure a smooth and efficient repair process. Our team is committed to working with you to address any issues and find solutions that accommodate your unique circumstances.

  • How do I know if my foundation needs to be straightened or just reinforced?

Determining whether your foundation needs to be straightened or just reinforced depends on the extent of the bowing and the condition of the walls. A professional assessment by a qualified technician from DryBasements.com Ltd is necessary to make this determination. The technician will evaluate the severity of the bowing, the presence of any cracks or damage, and the overall structural integrity of the foundation. If the deflection is more than 1-2 inches or the wall has significant cracking, it may be necessary to excavate and straighten the foundation before reinforcing it. If the bowing is minimal and there are no major cracks, reinforcement alone may suffice.

  • How long does the repair process take?

The repair process for bowed walls can vary depending on the extent of the problem and the type of solution required. In general, the process can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Excavation and straightening of the foundation may require more time compared to reinforcement alone. Our team at DryBasements.com Ltd works efficiently to complete the repairs as quickly as possible while ensuring the highest quality workmanship.

  • Can I finish my basement after the bowed wall service is completed?

Yes, you can finish your basement after the bowed wall service is completed. Once the foundation has been repaired and reinforced, you can proceed with any additional renovations or improvements to your basement. It is important to note that the carbon-fiber reinforcement method used by DryBasements.com Ltd is minimally obtrusive and allows for easy finishing of the basement walls. The repaired area can be painted or covered with insulation and drywall, creating a seamless and functional living space.

  • Is the work covered by a warranty?

At DryBasements.com Ltd, we stand behind our work and offer a Lifetime Warranty on our bowed wall repair services. This warranty covers any leaks in the waterproofing system for as long as you own your home. The warranty is also transferable to one new owner within the first fifteen years, provided that DryBasements.com Ltd is notified in writing within 30 days of the transfer of title. This ensures that both you and future owners can have peace of mind knowing that the foundation repair is backed by a reliable warranty.
