Along the problem area, the concrete floor is removed and a trench is dug to allow placement of a new drain tile and drainage stone. The Air-Gap membrane is installed on the wall from grade level, down to the footing, and in most applications, over the tile. Most of the moisture is concentrated below the grade line or ground level. On block foundations, drain holes are drilled in the bottom row of blocks. The drain tile is typically connected to a sump pump and then new concrete restores the floor area.
The basement can then be finished, with care taken not to fasten through the membrane.
