A Brief History

Operations began in 1990 when Mr. Jeff Brown took it upon himself to fill a void in Woodstock, Ontario. Until JB Enterprises Waterproofing Specialist opened its doors (figuratively speaking), there was no local company whose only objective was repairing leaks in area foundations. As time passed, Mr. Brown continued to investigate and study new and more effective ways to deal with basement problems.

"We don't try every new idea that comes along but when I find an innovation that I believe will truly benefit my clients, I do the research and learn as much as I can about it. Then I begin to implement it as a repair option. Not every new concept works out exactly as the manufacturer claims so I have always believed that it is my responsibility to be prepared to return and try again. If I have put a warranty on the repair, then this is obviously at no cost to the client. Of course it is only ethical to discuss this potential with the client beforehand." - Jeff Brown 2006

In 1996 JB Enterprises entered the information super-highway with the launch of www.DryBasements.com.

2001 saw the incorporation of 2006589 Ontario Ltd. operating as JB Enterprises. Apart from the unfortunate year of 2002 when Mr. Brown took on a poor business partner, the company has seen steady growth over the years. 2006 has distinguished itself as a record sales year.

Our staff has increased to 8 full-time service personnel, while our office staff remains with April Brown being the Office Manager assisted by Jessica (on maternity leave) on a part time basis. Of course Mr. Brown performs estimates, trouble shooting and general oversight. A second excavator was purchased in 2006 and a third slightly larger machine in 2007 to replace the original excavator. Mr. Steve Bricker joined the team in 2006 to manage the excavating crews. Although relatively new to the Waterproofing Industry, Mr. Bricker has 20 plus year’s construction experience and is a valuable asset to the business. In addition, during 2006, further refinements were made to improve the overall experience and satisfaction of our customers.

2006 also saw the introduction of a new name. 2006589 Ontario Ltd. legally changed its name to DryBasements.com Ltd. The new name better reflects the services we offer to our clients while at the same time directing them to our web site.
